EV Charging Operator / Doğan Otomotiv - Wallbox

Doğan Trend Otomotiv became the distributor of the charging stations manufacturer Wallbox in Turkey. Spanish originated Wallbox produces smart charging solutions for electric vehicles, businesses and cities. The brand, which has a widespread network with corporate and individual solutions in more than 40 countries, has an annual production capacity of over 100 thousand units.

EV Fluid / Castrol

Castrol conducted a survey on the critical factors affecting the widespread use of electric vehicles in Turkey. According to the study, consumers in Turkey say that they can pay 19% more on average for an electric vehicle compared to a gasoline-powered vehicle.  They also state that their average charging time expectation is 28 minutes and their average range expectation is 406 kilometers. In the survey conducted in eight countries, the charging time expectation for consumers was expressed as 31 minutes and 469 kilometers of range.

EV Statistics / Monthly EV Sale

Despite the SCT increase in Turkey, electric vehicle sales increased. 312 electric and 12,402 hybrid cars were sold in March. The share of electric cars in total sales increased from 0.1 percent to 0.2 percent. 107 electric vehicles were sold in March last year.

Contest / OIB

The Future of Automotive Design Competition, organized by OIB with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and under the coordination of the Turkish Exporters Assembly since 2012, will be held online on October 18, 2021 this year. Applications for the competition can be made until September 3.

EV Charge Operators / I-REC Certification

Turkish electric vehicle charging operators E-Charge and ZES certify that the electricity they provide at their charging stations is obtained from clean energy with the "International Renewable Energy Certificate" (I-REC).

Commercial EV Manufacturer / Tektem

TEKTEM Makina with its 120 personnel, exports electrical industrial cleaning vehicles to dozens of countries . In addition to cleaning vehicles, the company also manufactures fire trucks, police and ambulance vehicles for educational purposes. The founders of the company started their business life by producing brooms.

Public Transportation / IBB

After the phaetons were banned last year, transportation was provided by electric vehicles in prince Islands. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) will held tender for receiving 60 more electric vehicles for prince islands on May 7th.

Commercial EV Manufacturer / Karsan

Karsan won the tender of public electric transportation for the Romanian city of Mangalia and signed a contract for the delivery of 10 Atak Electric buses. Thus, the number of vehicles of Karsan in the Romanian market will increase to 120.

EV Manufacturer / TOGG

Murat Günak started to work as TOGG Design Leader as of April 1. Joining the Volkswagen brand group design team in April 2003 and working as the Volkswagen Group's Design Manager since January 2004, Günak was responsible for the design activities of all brands in the group. Among the cars that Günak has designed are Mercedes SLK, Mercedes C Series, Peugeot 206, Volkswagen Eos and Volkswagen Golf GTI.

EV Manufacturer / TOGG

TOGG became the first Turkish brand to receive the iF Design Award in the field of mobility. Designed by the TOGG design team with the guidance of Murat Günak in collaboration with Pininfarina, , the TOGG C-SUV was awarded in the "Professional Concept" category.
